REFORM CANDIDATES.
TO THE XOTTOB. Sir, —Taking them in the aggregate the Reform candidates for rlie Christchurch seats are a poor lot —os prospective members of Parliament, X mean, !Not one of them is a man of great driving force or strong personality; and I don’t think one could), by any stretch of imagination, be called a great orator. This state of affairs naturally leads to the question, where arc the successful business and professional men who are avowed Reformers? Are they too engrossed in making money to give some time to their country’s affairs, or is Mr Massey the type or politician who prefers mediocre colleagues for fear of a possible rival ? Looking at Mr Massey’s Cabinet the latter assumption appears the correct one.—l am, eto. CURIOUS.
