ROSE DAY.

SUM OF £212 REALISED. Res© Day. which was held yesterday in aid of the Bridge of Remembrance fund, yielded £212, but there were some returns which were not available last night. r ihe weather conditions were bad earlv in the day, and Air J, Wyn Irwin said that had they been more favourable at least twice the sum would have been collected. The lady collectors and stallholders reported for duty in the morning, and the stalls in the streets were stocked with flowers, but up to midday only a very meagre return was Beouved. The rain kept the public from whe streets, and the opportunities afforded the collectors were thus diminished. There were some splendid collections of blooms on the stalls that should have invited a gererous patronage. The workers stuck valiantly to their tasks, and carried on throughout the day. The Navy League Stall on Rose Day was under the charge of Alesdames W. B. Fox and A. E. Smith, and the amount collected was £l2 lls sd. Those who assisted at the Creche and Kindergarten Stall were Alias L. Tabait, Mrs Evans, Airs Batchelor, Airs Reading, AJrs H. Wauchop, Alias Tessa Reading, Alias Allen, Aliss Kirk and Alisa English.
