The Adlyites and Zagloulists separately celebrated the anniversary of the demand for independence in 1918. The former, including members of the Assembly, passed a resolution in favour of the rupture of negotiations in the event of Britain insisting on the retention of troops. In the event of failure, those present decided that they ■would not enter into other negotiations.
