CHILD’S DEATH. An inquest will be held in the Courthouse at 4 p.ip. to-day, touching the death of a male child born at 11 a.m. yesterday, in tho bedroom of a private hotel. The police report says it is not yet known whether th© child was born alive or was stillborn. Tho mother, Lucy Pope, twenty-two years of age, single, came from Wellington on November 13. and she was a boarder in th© hotel at tho time of the child’s death. ACCIDENTALLY SHOT. John Loe, a middle-aged married man, who resides at No. 126. Dyer’s Pass Road, Cashmere Hills, received serious injuries in the chest through the accidental discharge of a loaded shot gun this morning. He was cleaning the gun at No. 480, Colombo Street, when it was discharged, th© shot entering his chest. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. His condition is reported to be very critical. A ROAD FATALITY. (Pza Press Association.) NELSON, November 15. A fatality occurred on the Wangamoa Road, Eric Drew Elose. a single man, aged thirty-one, employed by the County Council, being run over and killed by a dray. A verdict of accidental death was returned at the inquest. DROWNED IN WATERHOLE. (Per Press Association.) MARTON. November 15. Thomas Miles, aged 81, a resident of Mart-on for forty years, was found drowned in a waterhole this morning.
