Mr P. R. Cliroie. secretary of the Canterbury Progress League, has accepted an appointment as New Zealand correspondent of the Citizens’ Research Institute of Canada. The fundamental work of the institute is to give the widest publicity to the results of research on ail great public questions of general interest. The institute is not a commercial orgnnis ntion. Its work of general investigation and publicity is supported bv voluntary contributions of citizens. One of the considerations underlying Mr Climie's acceptance of the position of correspondent is the opportunity of gaining valuable information concerning methods of organisation which may prove useful in Canterbury.
