The sale of sweets, account Adams, Bruce, Ltd. met with keen competition and 134 lots*’ were sold at very satisfactory prices. Owing to the sale not terminating on Friday continuance on Monday of 130 lots of furniture met with keen competition, and the best clearance wo have bad was made at this auction, private sales of motors and trucks have been of a satisfactory nature. 497 H. C. SMITH, Auctioneer. TO-DAY’S POULTRY MARKET. Messrs J. B. Merrett and Co. report a good entry of poultry to-day. There was av excellent demand and prices advanced. Table chickens realised 7s 9d to 15s 3d, hens 3s 6d to 11s 6d, ducks 7s to 13s Gd, geese 9s to 12s, turkeys 18s to 58s, all per pair. THE EGG MARKET Uggs are coming forward in large quantities, and there are ample for requirements. Canterbury Egg Circle first grades are Is sd, ducks Is sd, seconds Is 4d. Competition eggs Is 5d per dozen.
