, XOKTH CANTEHBURT. Tho North Canterbury Gun CKil) closed its season on Saturday. Tho weather was not altogether pleasant for .shooting, s, cold and gusty south-wester prevailing. Three matches were Bliot off during the niterr.con. Tho first event was a s-e.von-bird match, 20a sweep; second miss out. Added to tb.r» sweep money thoro were trophies valued at £5 5s mid ±'2 2s, given as first HJid aowcuril prizes by Mr ;i. D. M/Cracken. The results worses follow;—P. M'Ciucken (25yds) killed all his birds with tho first barrel, mid won 111* trophy and £7 11b cash; A. B. Keirr ('23 yds), F. Trußcott (25yds), F. Stoke-'i (21ytt«) and W. Parsons (?%ds) tied with si.t bi'rdj each. They .divided second and third money, and decided to nhoot off for the trophy ii\ tho next match, when A. B. Kerr v.-aa' ih« winner. G.
