Blair (Weliinglon Kennel Club) and tiro secretary (Mr P. H. Smith). Considerable discussion took place in connection with Iho application of the Otago Kennel Club for affiliation bs distinct from the Dunedin Fanciers' Club. The Kennel Club consisted of a large number of members of the Fanciers' Club, who resigned with the idea of concentrating on dogs as against poultry. The soio object of the new club was to rosier Iho interest in dogs, but it was argued that the Fanciers' Club had done much iu this direction already, and was still desirous of nmintaimig a keen interest in the canine fraternity. It was contended by those in favour of alfilianon of tho new club that it was a question cl fostering the interests in dogs, whilst those against it argued that tho new organisation was taking away the rights of the existing club. Tho now club was out to encourage dogs alone, whilst tho Fanciers’ Club was mainly concerned in poultry. The expressed the view that atiilialion should not bo granted to the new club, holding that the Kew Zealand body should support, the clubs which were already affiliated to it. Mr Gibson, who advocated the affiliation, said that it was considered that the dogs .hud nor had justice, and it was thought that if the dog fanciers went, on their own way they would get, better results. Titov had assuraiiws ot support, and there was every indication of success. The question was (him put to the vote, and the voting resulted ns follows:—For affiliation, 7; .against, 6. The application was granted. An application of tho Auckland Kennel Club to hold an all-champion ship show at, Auckland next year was refused fur the rca- I son (hat it was decided to hold a chrw i the south next year. It was decided to notify tho Auckland club that its claim would I bo'considered u.t a future date. A recommendation from the Auckland Ken- I ncl- Club that tho New Zealand body adopt! the rules of the Now South AA'aios Kennel i Association was left to the executive for a | report. Tho election of officers for the ensuing year j resulted as follows:—President, Mr Paul ] Hunter; executive committee, Messrs A. AV. t Blair (Wellington), C. A. Hutton (Dunedin,, A. S. V- Morten (Canterbury) and C. Erickson (Dannevirke); secretary and treasurer, Mr P. H. Smith. Tho annual report, which was adopted, stated that the past year had, in consequence of tho fi.ua! stages of tho war, proved most trying to tho majority of affiliated clubs, hut ■ it was pleasing to note the activity now uvulent in those centres which iuui been dormant

(hiring recent, years. The Hawke's Day, Minnawatu and \V ellingiiyi Kennel' Clubs-had again become active, and the prospects or ievival in other centres were most promising. Owing to the very limited number of shows fiinee the last statements, the revenue of th* club_ hud in consequence suffered. This was inevitable with the nominal fes charged, but with the advent of normal conditions a speoay recovery should be attained. The executive, while deploring the loss through the war of the gallant. fanciers who made the supremo sacrifice, joined in the universal thanksgiving for peace, and tniftcd that tho caninn fancy, together with kindred sports, would now enjoy its share, of prosperity.
