BLACK SATIN.
Shoe-black Batin is being worn to considerable extent', when made in afternoon frocks and smocks cut along oriental lines with flowing sleeves finished with a. border of fantastic embroidery worked in bright coloured worsteds. Pretty afternoon dresses of this material axe made simply, with shallow nocks and draped skirts, relieved by a touch of colour in the form of piping around the neck, and perhaps a slender ostrich feather of the same hue at the bolt. The piping at the neck may be pinked in tiny folds, if preferred. Lav. ender and green are both effective trimming for black.
