RAILWAY BALL.

The ball held in the Art Gallery last evening by the Christchurch Railway Department was highly successful ana enjoyable. The Art Gallery was specially decorated for the occasion with red and green muslin artistically looped across tho room, interspersed with baskets of palms and shrubs. The lounge was decorated with hothouse plants and spring flowers, and the supper tables with daffodils and narcissi. An energetic committee consisting of Misses Bryant, Bartlett, Pickens and Messrs E. G. Harvey, A. G. Parker, F. N. Hill, P. Gaines, T\. Washington, F. Gillard. H. Hall. A. Lund, W. Couch A. Dunn, A. W. Styles. H. P. Kennedy! G. J. Cain, E. J. Askenbeck. Mr T. S. Dowlc (chairman). Mr L. Palmer (secretary) and Mr C. J. Ashlev (treasurer) arranged the dance and‘carried out their duties movst capably. Those present included Mr arid Mrs T Mahoney, Mr and Mrs R. S. Ashby, Mr and Mrs M Carroll, Mr and Mrs Games Mrs T.
