DANCE AT THE PORT.
In return for a dance given on Monday by a number of young ladies ot Lyttelton, at wliicli the deck and en-gine-room officers of the oversea vessels Masala, Ayrshire, Opawa, Waihora and u aiwera were the guests, the officers of these vessels gave a dance last evening in the Lyttelton Club Hall, at which there were about fifty couples present. A dainty supper was provided and served by the officers. The dance music was supplied by Mrs Gorst’s orchestra. Mr Fisher, of the Opawa, carried out the duties of AI.C. Tho decorations Were extremlely effective, the names of the, different ships being printed on muslin and hung overhead.
