A SUNDAY NUISANCE
ifO THE EDITOR. Sir, —" Peace, perfect peace," but not quite. A comic bong runs, '''Beautiful Sunday, I wish it would never come Monday." Beaut.iful Sunday in New Brighton is spoilt tor a good many people by the persistent ring.ng of a church bell. In this peaceful borough the bell gets in its nerve-racking work eight times on Sunday, «nd pome of the rimy are of five minutes' duration. The ringer must have a grudge of some kind, because, just as the poor, tired Sunday rosters are thinking that the deadly, non-musical ringing is at r.n end. out it coir.es more vjciously than ever for a last kick, and in imagination one f'ees the poor victim*; writhing in Mie torture. Does bell rinsing, or clanging, induce pooplo to otter,d scrv'cp, T wonder? I don't th'nkl " 1-1 inc out, Joyou3 Bells," I don't think. I are, etc.. A MODERN MARTYR.
