TAKEN WHILE WAITING.
CANINE LIFTED FROM MOTOR CAR. A small pet dog was the subject of a; daring piece of work in Cathedral Square on Saturday evening, being whisked away from under the very hoses of his owners. The dog waff.sea ted on the front seat of a motor-car which was left standing in the Square, but lie was not, alone. On the rear seat of the car there was a child with its nurse. The dog was frisking about and barking, but it suddenly disappeared. While it was enjoying itself a man happened along by the car, and reaching over calmly annexed the poodle, without attracting tho attention 'of the other occupants of the automobile, who did not notico the absence of the pet until tho annexer was clean out of sight with his swag. Up to the present the lost dog has not been recovered.
