CARNIVAL AT KAIAPOI.
EASTER MONDAY'S FESTIVAL. A meeting of the Kaiapoi Easter Monday Carnival Committee was held on Monday night, Captain H. E. Revell presiding. Correspondence was received from the Eltham, Oxford and Greymoutli Sports Clubs, forwarding the addresses of axemen. The New Zealand Athletic and' Cycling Union and' the New Zealand Axemen's Association wrote, granting permits for the cavnival. The offer of the W.C.T. U. for a refreshment booth was accepted. It was decided to add to the programme a double hand sawing competition. Applications for- programmes were received from- various parts of the dominion. A ftub-oommitteo was appointed to select timber for the woodchopping events. Entries close for the vA.ri.ons events on March 31.
