AUTOMATIC 'PHONES.
IMPENDING LAWSUIT. STATE TO BE A PARTY. [Per Press Association.] * WELLINGTON, November 15. Mr Curtis, New Zealand representative of the Strowger Automatic Telephono Company of America, has instructed tho company's solicitors to take action at law forbidding the Western Electric Company, Limited (Australasia), infringing the patent rights alleged to be held by tho plaintiff company with respect to automatic telephones proposed to be introduced into Now Zealand by tho Western Company. The Crown will bo joined as respondents.
The action is a sequel to the acceptance by tho Government of the Western Company's tender for the installation of automatic exchanges at Auckland, Wellington, Blenheim, Hamilton, Oama.ru and Masterton.
