WIFE DESERTION.
A GREYMOUTH CASE. . [Per Peess Association.] GREYMOUTH, November 15. A young man named Campbell, who was arrested oii a charge of wife desertion in Sydney, and tor whom there was a difficulty in extradition owing to the smallpox regulations, was brought up at the local Court on remand this morning. He stated that he was unable to find security for the payment of a maintenance order made fast week. He was convicted on the charge of desertion, and was ordered to come up for sentonco when caled, and for failing to find security for the maintenance order was committed to gaol till the security was forthcoming.
