OBITUARY.
MR A. MACFARLANE.
The death- is announced of Mr Alexander Macfarlajie, of Achray, Rotherluini, in the' Amuri district, after a short, illness. Mr Macfarlaue was the youngest son of the late Mr John-Mac-farlaue. He was born at Rangiora fifty years ago, and was educated in Ghristclnircli and at the Agricultural College, at Lincoln. For seven years he was on the Lyndon station, and then took over Achray, which was formerly part of the St Ix>.onard's station, and was bought by Mr J. Macfarlaue in 1877. Mr Alexander Macfarlane was a member of the Amuri County Council since 1893. but otherwise did not_take part in public affairs. - In 1897 lie married a daughter of the late Mr G. W. M'Rae, of the Glens of Tekoa, on the Hurunui. The deceased leaves a widow, but no children. <
