AUSTRALASIA v. ENGLAND. RUGBY LEAGUE GAME. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received November 9, noon.) LONDON, November 9. Five thousand persons were present at the match between England and the Australasian football team. The ground was very slippery. England, who were strongly represented, pressed their opponents at the start, and lino passing among the three-quarters ended in Davis scoring. Thomas converted. Francis promptly retaliated with a brilliant try, which he failed to convert. Thomas secured a goal from a free kick, and then Francis scored again, but no goal was kicked. From this point onwards the visitors had all the best of the play, Farnsworth, Cann and Hallet scoring in rapid succession, and two goals were kicked by Francis and Cann'. Engl and at this period seldom looked dangerous. At half-time the score was: Australia, 19; England, 7. In the second half England tackled desperately, and prevented their opponents increasing the score, while for them Davies obtained a try. England subsequently missed several good chances through faulty passing.
