CHRISTCHUHCH. Tuesday, November 7. (Before Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M.) Drunkenness. Five first offenders for drunkenness were each fined ss, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. — Margaret Williams, a second offender, was fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment, for drunkenness. _ Through Drink.—William Quiltcr was charged with, having been found drunk and with having damaged a cab window to the value of 30s. He was fined ss, in default twenty-four hours imprisonment, and was ordered to make good tho damage done, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. A Broken Order.—-Alfred Dory Ogier appeared on a charge of having obtain, ed liquor during the currency of a prohibition order. As the police were not ready to proceed with the chargo, the accused was convicted and discharged. —Martin Fisher was fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment, for the first breach of a prohibition order. ■< Diunk an'i) Complications.—Patrick Warner pleaded guilty to charges ol drunkenness and having used obscene language. He was convicted and discharged on the first count, and_ was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment ou the second. ■ Alleged Tukft ruoM Person.—David Thomas M'Gavin, James Corbett and Timothy Toomey appeared on ft charge of having stolen £lO from the person of William Henry Grant. Mr Cassidy appeared for both accused, who were remanded to appear on Saturday. Remanded. —Georgo Walterson (Mr Cassidy) appeared on a cliarge of haying stolen £5 from the person of William George Logan at Kiccarton. The accused was remanded until Wednesday, bail being allowed, accused 'n £IOO and one surety of £IOO. Alleged Them.—Henry Mather, charged with the theft of £l3, the property of Clara Helm, was remanded to appear to-morrow, bail being allowed, accused in £SO and one surety of £SO.
