THE EXHIBITION.
There was a good attendance at tlie Exhibition this morning, despite the fact that tho visitors to the city were chiefly concerned with preparations for the racos. The scholars from the St Albans School visited the Exhibition this morning, and attended at tho concert hall to see the Tourist Department's motion pictures. To-morrow, at 11 a-ui. ; Lord Islington will visit the Exhibition. The records show that during tlie nine clays the Exhibition has been open 10,flQ0 adults have been admitted. This total is exclusive of IGOO school children.
A meeting of the executive was hckl yesterday, when the secretary submitted a statement, which was considered quite satisfactory in all respects. It is understood that the total sum taken at the doors will be announced at the nest meeting of the executive. To-day about 400 children from the St Albans School came into tho city by tram and spent some time in the Exhibition. They were specially interested in the display of moving pictures. The teachers who accompanied them pointed out the different industries represented, and the importance of encouraging local manufactures. Before tha children left the building, they gave cheers for the 'lHoitrist Department as a mark of their appreciation of its efforts in providing nn interesting and instructive entertainment.
One of the niosfc "ratifyinn; features of tho Exhibition is the interest that is being taken in it by tho children. Tlio officers of the Exhibition, on their part, state that it is a genuine pleasure to see the youngsters in tlie hall, and that their conduct on nil occasions has been most exemplary.
