ADDINGTON YARDS.

THIS DAY. [Per the " Star's " Pigeon Express.] The sale at Addington to-day was a double one, in view* of holidays next week, and t-liero wero larger entries than usual in most lines, though in some the yarding dropped below last week's figures. The attendance was larger than usual. Store sheep and fat cattle values remained unchanged and firm. Fat lambs recovered from. last week's slump to tho extent of about 8s per head, and fat pigs were firmer. Fat Cattle.—Tho entry of fat cattle aggregated 297 head, as against 18S head at the last sale. Tho yarding included some exceptionally good cattle, but there were many lines from the North Island, as has been the case for some weeks past. Competition was strong at the start, but the sale dragged at the finish, though prices were well maintained. Steers realised £8 53 to £9 17s 6d, extra to £l2 and £l6 ss; heifers £5 17s 6d to £B, extra to £ll 12s Gd ; dry cows £6 6's to £7 10s, extra to £9 15s. Voalors.—There was an ordinary yarding _ of vealers, including many small animals, and prices remained unchanged at from 4s Gd to 60s. Store Siikep.—The yarding of store sheep was about .the same as last week, and half of it consisted of hoggets, the balance consisting of ewes aiid lambs, with a few pens of shorn sheep. The hoggets averaged medium class, with a few pens of ewes. , There was a good line of half-bred wether hoggets. Shorn sheep were represented by a few pens of two-tooths and an odd pen of four and six-tooths. The ewes wore for tho most part full imd failing-mouth sheep of medium quality. The attendance was large, and last week's prices were just about maintained. Good ewo hogget 3 _ made 15s 2d to 15s 8d; medium mixed, sexes lis 6d to 12s 8d; v/ether hoggets 12s to 13s 3d; one extra line 13s 10c! : and a large line of halfbreds 12s 10d to 13s Id; sound-mouth ewes, wTth lambs, made 10s to 10s 9d; full and failing-months 8s Gd to Ds 10(1; aged and inferior 7s M, all counted. Forward wethers in wool mado 17s 8d; small two-tooth dry ewes, in wool, 13s ; shorn two-tooth wethers to lis; small and inferior 8s lOd; four and six-tooth shorn wethers 14s 9d; six and eighttooth dry shorn ewes 10s sd. Fat Lambs.—Thero was an entry of 311 fat lambs, as against 530 last week. The yarding included a good proportion of prime stock, and the demand was good throughoiit, prices recovering by about, 33 por head. ISest lambs made Ids Gd to 19s 9d, smaller lis to los. Fat Shkici'.—There was a largo yarding of fat sheep, a, good proportion coming from Southland, while, there wore many shorn linos. -Tho general quality was good, and tho salo opened well. Fat Pigs.—Tho entry of fat pigs was smaller than usual, and the demand was keener, with prices ruling firmer, especially for porkers. Choppers made 50s to 82s. large bacouers 60s to 74s Gd, smaller 50s to 57s Gd. conn! to Gd per Hi; large porkers 40.; to 'l7s (id. smaller 35s to 39s Od, equal to G.kl to 7d per lb. ,
