THE GRAND LODGE

[Per Press Association.] NEW PLYMOUTH. May o. The Masonic Grand Lodge annual communication opened to-day, Lord Plunket presiding, and about 300 brethren from all partg of the dominion were present. Tlie Board of Benevolence report showed that £220 had been granted during the year to widows and orphans and aged Masons. The fund showed an expenditure of £420. The capital value of the fund is now £11,866, earning £480 a year. The total accumulated funds of the Grand Lodge are now £19,752, all invested in Government and local bodies' securitiesThere are now 164 lodges in the dominion. Lord Plunket was re-elected Grand Master, and Brother Nicholson was re-elected pro-Grand Master. The weather is fine, and the town ie full of Visitors, but many South Island Masons have not yet arrived, having missed the train connection at Wellington.
