A boy named Roy Edmonds, aged sixteen years, was shooting shags with his brother in a boat at Kerikeri, when ». cartridge exploded as his brother was (ilosing the breech of his gun. Roy received the full charge in his right side, and died twelve hours later. NAPIER, August 6. At the inquest on Mrs Milgrew, the jury returned a verdict of suicide whilst temporarily insane. BLENHEIM, August 6. A rather serious accident occurred at the railway crossing this morning. The four-year-old' child of Mr Arthur Buckman was playing. on the line* at the crossing and tried to run across in front of an approaching train. The child got bewildered and stopped. It was caught by the cow-catcher, wirown against a post and seriously injured, and probably concussion of the brain will result. GORE, August 6. Miss Keane, a visitor at P. Ford's, Chattpn, was thrown from a horke last night and sustained concussion of the brain. She is still unconscious.
