The Cross Creek branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants passed a resolution regretting the action of the majority of the conference delegates in dispensing with the services of Mr J. T. M. Hornsby as editor of "The Railway Review; 3 ' further, that the valuable services rendered by Mr Hornsby during his tennas editor should be placed on record. WELLINGTON, April 15. Mills (Wellington) and J. E. Thomson (Dunedin), Rabbit-Agent ' M'Kellar (Invercargill) and G. Ross (Dairy Inspector, Palmerston North). Sidney Mitchell Barnes, well-known as a balloonist, was charged today with wife desertion. It was alleged that he was about to leave the colony. Barnes was remanded to appear at Waimate on April 18. Bail was allowed, himself in £80, and two sureties of £40 each.
