This afternoon the case of Rex v. Dr William Diamond, a charge of manslaughter, was opened before Mr V. G. Day, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court. The formal charge against Dr Diamond was that lie did, on February 22, by his negligent and improper d "* in g of a motor-car, cause th© death of Sydney Raymond Meri'itt.
