Mr H. T. TurneT, inspector in charge of the Christohurch office of the Agricultural Department, went io Wellington on Saturday for a three weeks' vacation in the North Island. News has been received, from London of the death of Dr William Logan, of Wellington. Deceased left New Zealand twelve months ago with the object of studying special work. Mr J. Wyn Irwin, principal of the Gregg Shorthand Institute, Wellington, is in. town.
