HASTINGS, December 23. The Salvation Army Band caused a horse driven by F. King (proprietor of the Stortford Lodge Hotel) to bolt, and swerving to pass a man standing in the road, the trap collided with a verandah post-. Both King and hie wife had a marvellous escape, sustaining onlv a severe shaking.
BLENHEIM, December 23
A man named Jobsoii was drowned in the Sounds off the launch Victory, on Saturday night. ' No particulars are available.
