SCOTT V. MUNRO.

MR SCOTT IN REPLY. In conversation with a reporter this morning concerning Mr Munro's recent explanation of the verdict in the Exhibition case of Scott v. the Exhibition authorities, Mr G. Scott, the' plaintiff, expressed surprise that such reference had been made to the case while it was sub-judice, and. he also stated that he was very much annoyed that the interview had been published without his having an opportunity at the time to also make a statement on the matter. All he had to say was that the findings of the jury had all been given in his favour, and the jury, by its findings, had said distinctly that it did not believe the evidence of Mr Munro or his witness, O'Connell. Mr J. L. Scott stated that Mr Munro had added, as a piece of petty spite, an attack on Scott Bros, with reference to th© burying of rubbish at the Exhibition. They had had some concrete foundation under their electrical plant, and were instructed by Mr Munro to bury it. The _ work was done, and Mr Munro and his men were supposed tosee _ that what was necessary was carried out. There were also some brickbats and mortar left, and Mr Munro wrote to the firm on December S, " There- still remains on the Exhibition grounds a considerable quantity of debris from your chimney stack. Itconsists principally of iron bars and brickbats. Would you kindly have these removed or buried as soon as possible, as we are anxious to clear up the Park now with as" little delay as possible." The iron had been carted into their own yard, and the brickbats were buried, iheir men having instructions to do whatever was requested. No complaint of any kind had been receiv- ! ed regarding the way in which the I material was disposed. " I am satis- j fied," Mr Scott concluded, " that Mr | Munro had this rap at Scott Bros, on account of his difference with Mr George Scott, while he was also having a rat> at the Domain Board, of which Mr George Scott happens to be a # member, although he had no hand in the removal of this material."
