,' Saturday. :The weather was favourable this morning, and a large number of onlookers waß present to watch .proceedings, which were of _ very j interesting character. The tracks were in j capital order, and most of the work was accomplished on the grass. Deerstalker and Tercelet were the first pair out, and galloped seven furlongs on the plough in lmin 335sec. To-morrow, alone, dashed over six furlongs in lmin 19seo. while Ordnance took lmin 58sec to run a mile. Treadmill defeated Ragabrash easily im a spin over six furlongs, which was run in lmin HJJseo. Cannie Chiel and Golden Vein were associated in a gallop over a mile, the former, showing improved form, finishing several lengths iu front of his. companion. The time regiebere- was lmin 49sec, a fair performance, for the plough is somewhat heavy. Stepdancer, King Stork and Ropu negotiated a working gallop over a mile on the grass, the ; trio finishing together in lmin 49sec. Gold Crown and Sea Lion finished over the last three furlongs of a steady circuit at -threequarter speed, and afterwards put in another round ■ steadily. Quarryman was better than Windwhistle over a fast half-mile, run in 52 2-sßeo, while Firebrand dashed over five furlongs im lmin- 6_seo. . danburn ran a mile on the plough in lmin 51sec, and Lolah easily defeated Bombardo over a similar distance, run in lmin 48isec on the grass. St Denis (M* Combe) and Petrovna (Godfrey) were companions in a gallop over six furlongs. The latter, who gained a slight advantage at the start, always appeared to have the better of the gallop, and finished several lengths in front. ' The time, lmin 17seo, was very good, and this was considered the best gallop of the morning. Walls) fenced in his usual finished manner in a circuit over the hurdles. - Pallas dashed over half a' mile in 49 l-ssec, going resolutely. Pampero (Jenkins) and Vladimir (L. long) finished together at the end of a fast seven, furlongs, run in lmin 88soc. The pair finished up their work smartly, and both horsed' -are very well. Bulawayo ran six furlongs in lmin 22sec, and Long. Tom (Maragah*n) gave a creditable display in a schooling task over the hurdles.
