LAND BOARD.

♦ The Land Board met yesterday ; present — Messrs Sidney Weetman (Commissioner of Crown Lands), D. M'Millan, J. M'Lacblan and A. C. Pringle. The following applications were considered : — F. G. Mapple, lease in perpetuity, section 3, Pawaho Hamlet, block XV|., Christchurch, lair 5p, F. D. Wooffindin ; lease in perpetuity 50., Arowhenua Village Settlement, block 11., 1 rood, F. Morrow ; lease iri perpetuity 6 and 7, Brow Settlement, block X., Christchurch, 2 acres. These applications were granted. An amplication by William Thomas .or lot 504, Arowhenua village settlement, was refused. The following applications for ex_ change of tenure from perpetual lease to lease in perpetuity under section 150 of the Land Act, 1892, were approved :— -John Dixon, village hamlet, lease in perpetuity, section 5, reserve 2332, blocks V. and IX., Oxford, 50 acres; James Henry Pearson, village hamlet, lease in perpetuity, section 5, reserve 2332, block V., Oxford. 48 acres 3 roods 20 perches; William Kelly, lease in perpetuity, section 29, reserve 1126, block XI:, Waimate. 10 acres. Applications for transfers of leases and licenses, lease in perpetuity, No. 87, lot 9, block VIII, Lowry Peaks, from E. F. D. Fenwick, to Mrs Grace Gardner. Mr Gardner appeared before the Board in support of the application, and after hearing his statement it was resolved to approve of the transfer. Lease in perpetuity, No. 202, lot 14, block VIII., Lowry Peats, Joseph Gibson to John Oliver chapman. It was resolved to approve of the transfer, subject to the usual conditions. Lease in perpetuity, No. 457, lot 10, Ashley Gorge Settlement, William Higginsou to Mrs Emily May Gillespie. It was resolved to approve of the transfer. With regard to No. 248, lot 11, Kapua Settlement, MiThomas M'Donald wrote again with reference to his application for trati_- 1 fer of the lease to Alexander Wat\ It was resolved that the Board did not see its way to alter the decision previously minuted. Turner, the proposed transferee, stating that he would comply as to residence, was accepted as satisfactory, and it was resolved to approve of the completion of the transfer. Reserve 2054, Tengawai river, near Sutherlands, J. E. Jones to J. Mathews. It was resolved to approve of the transfer. Lease village : settlement 338, lot 23, Rabbit Island, John Lancaster to James Lancaster. The trans- i fer was approved.
