OBITUARY.

A telegram was received in town this morning to the effect that the Rev E. H. Soper, Baptist minister at Greendale, died this morning. He appeared to have been in perfect health yesterday, and his death must have been very sudden. The Rev E. H. Soper. was for ten years, a missionary in brazil, where his health was permanently injured by the tropical climate. About five years ago he returned to England, and was employed by the Baptist Missionary Society to visit_ the English churches on behalf of the society, but his health not being established, he was advised to visit the colonies, and settled at Greendale about two years ago. Although never very strong, he was able, with one or two exceptions, to take both services every Sunday.
