A COUNCIL'S LIABILITY.
At the Eangiora Magistrate's Court this morning, Mr H. W. Bishop gave judgment in the case of M'Carron v. the Borough Council, claim <£1O for damage to a horse through the breaking in of a wooden culvert constructed across a street by the Council some years ago. Mr Bishop" held that in ' accordance with judicial rulings £he Council was not liable, and gave judgment accordingly, with costs' against the plaintiff. Leave to appeal was granted. Mr Johnston was for the plaintiff and Mr Helmore for the Council.
