DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUE.

DUNEDIN, March 23. A record attendance marked the first day's racing of the Dunedin Jockey Club's Jubilee Meeting. Quite 8500 people were present, including Lord and Lady Ranfurly and suite and the Right Hon R. J. Seddon. The weather was beautiful, and the racing was most interesting. Emmeline retired after going a mile and a quarter, and Starshot, taking command, held her position to the finish, and won as she pleased by two lengths from Pitch and , Toss, with Sequin third, Red Lancer fourth and St Paul fifth.
