[Per Press Association.] ; AUCKLAND, March 23. For years the services in the Tamahere Church have been interrupted by bees, four j swarms having made their home in the. roof of the building. On Monday^ the nuisance was removed, four hundredweight of honey being taken. The queens were destroyed. ' ] A large area of ground at the Government- plantation, Wairangi, has been ploughed for wattle growing. The Depart-ments-is qnite satisfied with previous operiftions. During the season a large quantity of bark has been stripped and. stored ready for the opening of the mill. Owing to the low prices for bark, no stripping has been done this year at the large plantations of Messrs Young and M'Lean at Wairangi. The Women's Democratic Union decided to send a letter to Miss Baker sympathising with her in her misfortune, and protesting against the Judge's strictures in the recent action. A resolution was carried that a petition shoixld be drawn up., requesting the Government to admit-gdocfs used for manufacturing purposes (not manufactured in the colony) duty 'free..
