LIABILITY OF SHIP-OWNERS.
At the Supreme Court, Perth, an infant named Wright , recovered .£425 , from the A.U.S.N. Company for injuries received through the contact of the steamer Barcoo with the pier at Fremantle. The evidence showed that the steamer was being berthed when the child put its hand out of the open porthole and its thumb was crushed. The judgment is subject to a point of law reserved as to whether the exempting clause on the ticket had force if not brought specially under the notice of the child's mother who held the ticket.
