SAD SHOOTING FATALITY.
, One of the saddest of many shooting ■ accidents that have occurred within recent years in Melbourne took place at Malvern, when Bertie Douglas, a bright young lad, shot himself with a saloon rifla. By a ■ strangely pathetic coincidence it was to have' been his sister's wedding day, and it was not until the carriages with white favours were at the door that the lad was missed from the party and subsequently found lying dressed upon his.- bed He was unconscious and had a* bullet wtiund in the centre of his forehead. "A messenger was despatched to St John's Church, Toorak, where the Rev Walter Fellows was awaiting, in the presence of a !large gathering of friends, to celebrate the marriage. Strangely enough, the death of the youngest Miss Douglas, little more than a year ago, caused the elder Miss Douglas to put off- the union for twelve months. ;; ;
