The rain ceased to-day, and unless more falls, the course will be in splendid order for the Jockey Club's meeting. It is, however, threatening to-night. A large number of visitors have arrived to be present at the meeting. Primula is receiving considerable support for the Cup, but Zanella, despite her heavy weight, is expected to run well. The following should run prominently : — Autumn Handicap, Tiranfc dEan ; Hufclie Kace, Ehino ; Cup, Zanella; Nursery, Jabber; High-weight, Golden Plover ; Trial, Nukurau ; Kailway Stakes, Amphion.
Mr John Small has sold his stallion Lord Willowby to Messrs Eae and Tristrail at a satisfactory figure, to go to Australia. Lord Willowby is by Lord Cranley out of a Kelvin mare, and own brother to the roan horse which Mr Small sold last year, and that afterwards realised 60Ogs m Australia.
