The Eangiora market was animated yesterday, the attendance being exceptionally large, and the yards filled with live stock. At the Central Yards 8000 sheep were entered, and there was a fair demand for all classes, only 500 being unsold. Prices were: — Butchers' fat ewes, 5s Gd, 6s 9d to 8s 6d ; fat lambs, 9s to 10s 6d ; fat wethers (freezers), 11s 6d to 12s 6d; fresh-conditioned lambs, 6s 6d to 7s 9d; half-bred breeding ewes, sound-mouthed, 5s 6d to 6s 6d ; two-tooth half-bred ewes, 6s Gd to 7s 6d ; old breeding ewes, 3s Gd to 4s Gd ; merino ewes, six and eight-tooth, 3s Gd to 4s ; good store lambs, 4s to ss; cross-bred boilers, 2s to 3s ; merino boilers, 4d, 9d to Is 4d. The entry of cattle comprised 120 head. Beef sold at equal to 17s per 1001 b; four-year-old bullocks, good condition, £3 12s 6d to £3 15s ; two-year-old do, £2 to £2 ss ; yearlings, good sort 3, 153 to 20s ; inferior, 5s to 12s ; dry cows, 30s to 355. There was a perfect boom in pigs. The entry comprised 150 ; prime baconers made 40s, 455, 52s 6d to 57s Gd ; porkers, 28s to 355 ; good stores, 25s to 295 ; small stores, 18s to 225 ; weaners, 10s to 14s ; suckers, 5s to 6s. At the North Canterbury Yards there was an entry of 2500 sheep, of which over 2000 were sold at the following prices : — Soundmouth merino ewes 2s lOd to 3s Gd, halfbred do 5s 6d to 7s, store lambs 4s lid %o 6s 3d, fat half-bred ewes 7s 8d to 8s 3d, cross-bred two-tooth wethers 8s to 93 Id, boilers Is to 2s Gd. In the produce yards woolly skins sold at 2s 6d to 4s, pelts (butchers') 2s to 2s 6d, country do Is 6d to 2s Bd, lambskins 2s to 2s Gd, fat Id toil-Jib ; fowls Is 6d to 2s 6d pair ; ducks 2s to 2s 3d ; chickwheat 2s 9d to 3s 3d, milling do 4s, oats 2s 3d to 2s Gd, feed peas 3s 3d, broken do 3s, beans 2s 9d to 3s, grass seed (farmers') 2s 6d to 3s, machine-dressed do 3s 6d to 4s, cowgrass 6ad to 71b, bran 70s ton, sharps 85s, flour 19s to 23s sack, potatoes 50s to 60s ton.
