THE VOLUNTEERS.

Yesterday evening Lieutenant-Colonel Gordon, accompanied by Major Slater, V.D., and Captain and Adjutant Hobday, paid a visit of inspection to the camp. The company paraded forty-one strong, under Lieutenant Smitb, and was put through a brief drill. After parade there was a rehearsal in the large marquee of the programme of the concert to be given at Sumner by the corps this evening in aid of the Bush Fires Relief Fund. The heavy rain of last night made ' the camp somewhat uncomfortable, owing to the defective condition of some of the tents. This after- , noon military and athletic sports will be ; held at the camp, beginning at 3 o'clock. , Members ofother corps are invited.
