The announcement has been made that if Russia does not succeed in securing the nomination of Prince George o£ Greece for the Governorship, she will abandon all interest in Crete. Received Jan. 29, 5.45 p.m. NEW SHIPPING COMPANY. LONDON, Jan. 28. The shipping firm of Houlder Bros, and Company, owners of the Grange line of steamers has been converted into a limited liability company, with a capital of £200,0C0, half in cumulative preference shares, and half in ordinary shares. The Company is issuing two-thirds of the amount of the capital in preference shares, and also debentures to the extent of £125,000. The purchase price is £25,000, the vendors taking all the ordinary shares, and one-third of the preference shares, with the balance in cash. Received Jan. 29, 11.10 a.m. RUSSIA AND TURKEY. CONSTANTINOPLE, Jan. 28. M. Zinovieff, the Russian ambassador, has warned the Sultan that unless Turkey takes steps to prevent Kurdish, incursions, Russia will adopt military measures in Armenia.
