ORANGE GRAND LODGE.

rFnoai Our Correspondent.! TIMARU, Dec. 29. At the Orange Grand Lodge five representatives of ladies' Lodges at Christchurch were admitted as a deputation in favour of the proposal to allow them to send delegates to the Grand Lodge. On their retiring an animated discussi<sn took place. Bro Middleton (Christchurch) moved ! a motion in favour, and Bro Haosall (Cust) an amendment — "That the Grand Lodge recognises the valuable services rendered by women to the Order, but that the question be referred to the Executive to report at next session." The amendment was carried. On its being put as a motion the Grand Secretary moved a further amendment — " That the Grand Lodge is willing to grant a charter for a separate Ladies' Grand Lodge." Carried. It was decided that an Executive of three past grand masters be appointed to act in conjunction Avith the j^rand officers. Resolved—" That a suitable honorary lecturess for tho Orange degree be appointed.". Resolved — "That the Grand Lodge offer a scholarship for the best essay on the life and times of the Prince of Orange." The Grand Lodge officers were installed in their respective positions.
