[Per Press Association.) DTJNEDIN, Oct. 5. The Benevolent Trustees have written to the Charitable Aid Board regarding the dispute as to the refusal to pass the requisition of the Trustees that it was the 1 Charitable Aid Board that appealed to the Colonial Secretary, and has since arbitrarily declined to recognise the requisition of the Trustees, or to furnish funds proportionate to the amount' asked for. The Trnstees contend thai until the. appeal of the Charitable Aid Board is decided in the Board's favour, it has no option but to comply with Clause 59 of the Act under which the requisition was made, and which provides that the Board shall make contributions according to requisition. The horses were got out with difficulty, two* being somewhat injured. The exact insurances are unknown, but there is a policy for .£4OO in the Phoenix Office, lhe owner, Mr Ellis, estimates his loss at i-200 above that sum. Nothing is known as to how tho fire originated.
