NORTH CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION.
In the North Canterbury Association Cap matches on Saturday the Ashley County A team defeated the Cast Club by ■„ 56 runa. 'The match was played at Cuat, and in their first innings the County made 105, Gulliver 39, Allan 17, and Moore 15 being the highest scorers. Cast c cored 49, j of whifih Atkinson made 15 and E. Blunden 11. The County commenced a second innings and scored 43 fcr three wickets. H. Wilson took seven wickets for 2b runs, and 1 for Cuet Slunden was the most successful with the ball. The Junior Cup Committee have decided that the Junior and President's Cup competitions shall go on as usnal on Saturday | next, but that no play shall take place on Dee. 14 in consequence of the match between Canterbury and New South Wales.
