[Per Pbbss Association.! AUCELAND, August 10. The football match, Auckland v. Wanganni, was played at Potter's Paddock, Epsom, to-day. The weather was fine, and two thousand five hundred persons were present. The game, which was an even and well-contested one, ended in favour of the home team by six points to three. WELLINGTON, August 10. The football match between the Manawatu and Wellington Unions was played at Petone this afternoon, in bitterly cold, southerly weather. The local team won by fourteen points to nil. The following team has been selected to play Christchurch next week :—Full-back, Burke j three-quarters, Gallaway, Boberts and Baumber; halves, Eelly and Craw* ford; wings, Eelly and M'Eenzie; forwards, Pauling, Young, Swindley, Calvan t Hardcastle, Pringle and Campbell. The forwards average 12at 101 b, and the team as a whole 12st 41b. A good selection has been made, and if all chosen get away a fine game may be expected.
