Ballance Liberal Association.
m A meeting of the Provisional Committee of the Addington branoh of the Ballance Liberal Association was held on Friday evening. Mr J. H. M'Millan, president of the Waltham Association} occupied the chair. Several questions of importance were brought up for consideration, including those of the Hospital inquiry and the new tariff. The action of Mr G. J. Smith in regard to the latter was considered to be very ill-advised, as the whole question was under the consideration of the Government. It was unanimously resolved—*" That this meeting wishes to congratulate Mr W. W. Collins on the action he has t^ken regarding the Brockley coal mines, ;;ad trusts he will not lose sight ot the matter in view of the importance of connecting the mines of coal known to exist in the Malvern Hills with the existing railway." Bix new members were enrolled. Owing to the absence of ladies it was decided to postpone the election of officers to the next meeting. Satisfaction was expressed ab the proßpecta of the new branch of the association.
