Miscellaneous.— -Samuel , Sawtell and William' Piggott were each fined 5s and GOBta 1 for riding bicycles on the footpath on 1 the North Boad, Eipanuj.-— Bobert Watson' Was 'charged with having, on June 5,' cruelly illtreated a dog at Halewellj Mr CreSawell appeared for the complainant, James Holmes j and Mr Boattie for' defendant, who pleaded not guilty, Af be? hearing the evidence, the Magistrate Tield that the offence had been proved, and inflicted a fine of 20a and coßtßi~An order was made prohibiting licensed' perebns in Christchurch and suburbs from supplying a man with intoxicating liquor for a period of twelve monthß.— Helen Bailey, for failing to allow one , of her employes Jessie Brown, a holiday oh the Queen's Birthday, was fined 10a and costs. Mr Cresßwell appeared'for the Inspector of Factories.
