I From the Charitable Aid Board, with J reference to amount due. 'Referred to j tbe Finance Committee. I Prom Mr Q. Bowron, with reference to j land on the Fisherman's 'Flat. After considerable discussion, ifc was resolved— '* That the Council take no furbheratepa in the matter, and pay for the land purchased by the Council for the erection of 'reservoir and engine-house forthwith." WATER BUPPJDT MAINS. Councillor Collins moved, in pursuance to notice—" Th&t the resolution to borrow^ iJI'OOO for the extension of the water mains foe rescinded." The motion was carried. The Council resolved to take fresh steps to raise a loan of j£ISOS if or the extension of the water mains through the centre of the township.. Mr E. Spear waited on the Council, wishing to know in which direction 'the Council intended to extend the water mains. i The Mayor informed him that a public meeting would be called in due time, when the complete plan would be placed before it. WORKS REPORT. The engineer's report was read and adopted. The Works Committee's report was read, and recommended payment to the contractor for the footpath in Morton Street j also thab the tender of W. Lawson for the removal of nightsoil and rubbish at 4.3 6d per house per quarter be accepted. The report was adopted. FINANCIAL. Accounts amounting to £89 9a 5d were pasaed for payment.
