PAREORA.
Tho actual result of the Pareora election was not known until a late hour, but when ifc was found that Mr Flatman, the Government candidate, had a majority at Temuka of 290, there was little doubt about who would be . returned. Ab the returns came in from various centres there waa some little excitement, but this lulled conoiderably as the evening wore on. The women polled strongly, and at about eleven o'clock the main booth was fairly blocked. The returns are — Flatman 1592 Ehodea 1377 Majority for Flatman 215 The total number of votes polled was 2969, but there were a number of informal mirs.
