Henry Thomas Atkins, a remittance man, received a sentence of two yeara for the larceny of opera glasses. James Barnard was 'sentenced to twelve, months' probation for horse-stealing. Nicholas Moore was sentenced to two years 1 imprisonment for an indecent assault on a child five and a half years < old. • j i James Ferguson Morrison was sentenced to three years' imprisonment, with hard labour, for forgery and false pretences. WELLINGTON, Nov. 30. The criminal sittings of the Supreme i Court opened to-day before the Chief j Justice. There was nothing important in the charge, his Honor only referring to the more serious offences. Cloke and Burton, on five charges of breaking and entering 1 at Wellington, and Joseph Knight, for \
burglary at Feilding, pleaded guilty, and were remanded for sentence. James Minnox, for larceny at Pahiatua, waa sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment. No bill was returned against J. O. Warne, charged with embezzlement.
