Although returns are not officially given as yet, Willis has a majority of 197, he having polled a total of 1669 as against Carson's 1472, and Parson's 363. There were nineteen informal votes. All returns are now in for New Plymouth, and gives the totals as Smith 1782, Trimble 1289, Price 163. WELLINGTON, Nov. 30. In the conrae of an interview, Sir Eobert Stout said that the majority of the new I Parliament has pronounced emphatically I againet the Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act of laßt session, and that the principle of direct veto must be accepted or else the minority mußt face the alternative of coalition with the' Opposition. The direct veto supporters he set down at 44, i.e., North Island 16, South Island 28. Through a mistake in addition by the Eeturning Officer, Vogel's totals were not given correctly. He polled 3608, and therefore is sixth on the poll. One hundred and thirty-seven electoral rights were issued to seamen. Including these the correct totals for the Wellington election are :— Stout 6218, Bell 5773, Duthie 4842, M'Donald 3865, Fraaer 3729, Yogel 3608, M'Lean 3440, Fisher 2385, Dwann 1158, Travers 1093. Of 16,497 electors on the soil 13,306 recorded their votes. There were 147 informal, principally caused by not striking out sufficient names. In checking the rolls up to the present several instances of dual voting have been detected. Buller. — The complete returns make M'Kenzie'a majority 216 over O'Conor. NAPIER, Nov. 30. Wi Pere, Mangakahia Tuninarangi, Henare Tomoana and Heuheu have been nominated for the East Coast Maori electorate.
